Cash threshold reports: CTR, LCTR, and TTR compared

August 11, 2026 · CTR · LCTR · TTR · cash

Threshold cash reports look similar from a distance. Threshold definitions, currencies, and validation sources are not interchangeable.

LCTR (FINTRAC), CTR (FinCEN), and TTR (AUSTRAC) all address large cash or threshold transactions. Mixing their floors, currencies, and party models is a common integration mistake.

  • LCTR: Canadian large cash with FINTRAC field IDs, dispositions, and threshold indicators.
  • CTR: US BSA cash reporting with Attachment A totaling and party roles.
  • TTR: Australian threshold transaction content from AML/CTF Rules — AUD $10,000 floor as a report definition, not a 24-hour rolling aggregator in the report pack or the AUSTRAC CSV scanner.

Validate with the pack that matches the filing destination. A green CTR check says nothing about LCTR readiness.
